Action rebuild. I was asked to rebuild a Steinway M Piano Action. It was a doubtful task since the piano had been damaged with water from the fireman. No fire touched it but there was extensive water damage. I had to break the action down to the frame and rebuild it with as many new parts as necessary. Here are a few before and after pictures:

I installed new Steinway wippens, hammers and shanks, re-bushed the front and balance rail pins, re-glued the key frame, replaced let off buttons and screws, put on new key tops aligned and traveled the hammers, and gave it a good regulation. It played like new when it was all done.

The owners (Summit Pianos) loved how it came out!
